Tina is Proud to Support Black-Owned Businesses
Born during Black History Month, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical’s new year-round initiative supports local Black-owned businesses. In partnership with the cast, creative team, and producers of TINA, we are striving to create more opportunities for communities beyond the four walls of our theater.
Each month, we’ll shine our spotlight on a different local Black-owned business or restaurant! If you own a business or would like to tell us about one in your community, fill out the form below.
Monthly Spotlight
BCakeNY is a custom cake studio and bakery which specializes in turning cake dreams into reality. For over 12 years, the women, black-owned business has been a trailblazer in creating customized cakes and desserts for special occasions, weddings, baby showers, birthdays and corporate events. BCakeNY is a group of artists and bakers at heart so when the world shut down in 2020, we stayed open determined to creatively fulfill our mission to spread joy through sweets. We chose to focus on the positive with our rallying call: “LOVE IS NOT CANCELED” and “CELEBRATE SAFELY!”. We quickly pivoted to produce smaller, personal, beautiful treats, like thematic kids cakes, mini wedding cakes as well as ready-made cake jars, cupcakes and cookies available online and contactless delivery. BCakeNY cakes and gift boxes are now available at our Brooklyn store, as well as nationwide, via e-commerce, Williams & Sonoma catalog, and citywide via Doordash and UberEats. In 2020, we launched the first food experience agency, which partners with leading brands and top marketing agencies to create viral food campaigns.
